Content Development

Whether you are running applications with millions of mobile users or you’re supporting the critical operations of your business, the “cloud” provides rapid access to flexible and low cost IT resources. With cloud computing, you don’t need to make large upfront investments in hardware and spend a lot of time on the heavy lifting of managing that hardware. Cloud Computing provides a simple way to access servers, storage, databases and a broad set of application services over the Internet. Cloud Computing providers such as Amazon and Microsoft Azure maintain the network-connected hardware required for these application services, while you provision and use what you need via a web application.

Content Development Methodology:

To produce high quality content, we apply ADDIE Model

Analysis:

In the analysis phase, instructional problem is clarified, the instructional goals and objectives are established and the learning environment and learner's existing knowledge and skills are identified.

Design:

The design phase deals with learning objectives, assessment instruments, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, lesson planning and media selection. The design phase should be systematic and specific.

Development:

The development phase is where the developers create and assemble the content assets that were created in the design phase. Programmers work to develop and/or integrate technologies. Testers perform debugging procedures.

Implementation:

This phase focuses on developing procedures for training both facilitators and learners. Facilitators training should explain the curriculum, learning outcomes, method of delivery and testing procedures. Student preparation includes training the use of new software and hardware, and registration. Preparation of learning materials including books, tools, CD-ROMs and software is conducted, and the website tested.

Evaluation:

The evaluation phase consists of two parts:

  • Formative and summative. Formative evaluation is present in each stage of the ADDIE process.
  • Summative evaluation consists of tests designed for domain specific criterion-related referenced items and providing opportunities for feedback from the users.

Designing custom e-Learning content allows you to develop learners’ skill sets and expand their knowledge base. However How to Determine the Cost of Custom e-Learning Content Development?

  1. Inclusion of basic e-Learning design elements
    • PowerPoint presentations and slide shows
    • Custom illustrations and personalized graphics
    • Animated graphics and 3D animation
    • Custom narratives and sound effects (including background music)
  2. Interactivity of your e-Learning course
    • Will you be including linear content, decision-based content, or interactive scenarios?
    • Are you going to include assessments that are text-based, or more interactive ones?
    • Are you going with a standard template or fully customized navigation?
  3. Development hours -including Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts
    • Is your content ready to be input into the learning management system, or will you require a subject matter expert to create the content beforehand?
    • Do you already have storyboard, lessons, and tests in place, or is the e-Learning course still in its initial planning stages?
    • How complex is your subject matter?
    • Have you already developed your outline and core curriculum?
    • How long will the project be ongoing?
Ease to use and more than that, there is evaluation in each stage.
The non-linear eLearning design can be applied to all types of eLearning styles.
That will be through the provision of graphics (illustrations, films, slides, drawings, curves and graphics and animation).

Digital Learning Objects

A learning object is "a collection of content items, practice items, and assessment items that are combined based on a single learning objective", and then all LOs should be collected in digital library according to internationally accepted principles for collection development and made accessible in a coherent and sustainable manner, supported by services necessary to allow users to retrieve and exploit the resources to be used to facilitate learning process and clarify complex concepts.
